Leave Form
Introduction
The Leave Request feature within QuickLeave enables faculty to seamlessly apply for leave while arranging substitutes for their classes. This guide provides a step-by-step walkthrough for filling out and submitting a leave request.
Accessing the Leave Form
- Open your web browser.
- Go to the QuickLeave application URL provided by your institution.
- Log in with your credentials if prompted.
Filling the Leave Request Form
Your Information
- Name: Automatically filled with your name; this cannot be edited.
- Department: Populated based on your profile information.
Leave Dates
- Start Date: Select the date your leave begins. (Mandatory)
- End Date: Select the date your leave ends. (Mandatory)
Reason for Leave
- Reason: Describe the reason for your leave in the text box. (Mandatory)
Leave Days
- Leave Days Table: You A table displays different leave types:
- Casual Leave (CL)
- Earned Leave (EL)
- Sick Leave (SL)
- Other Leave (OL)
- Non-Encashable Leave (NEL)
- Entering Leave Days: Enter the number of days for each leave type. You must enter a non-negative number for each category.
Substitutes
- Select Substitute: Use the dropdown to choose an available substitute faculty member.
- Substitute’s Date: Select the date for the substitute’s class.
- Class Timing: Specify the substitute’s start and end times.
- Course and Section: Enter the course and section for the substitute.
- Add Substitute: Click to include the substitute in the table below.
- Managing Substitutes: To remove a substitute, click the "Delete" button next to their entry in the table.
Compensatory Off
- Add Compensatory Off: Toggle to add a compensatory off.
- Date Worked On: Select the date you worked to earn the compensatory off.
- Add Button: Click to include the date in your request
Viewing Added Compensatory Off Dates
- A list of dates for compensatory off will be shown below the input fields, and you can delete any by clicking the "Delete" button.
Submitting the Leave Form
- Ensure all fields are completed and click the "Submit Leave Request" button.
- A confirmation dialog will prompt you to review your information.
- Click Confirm to submit or Cancel to make further edits.
Reviewing Submitted Requests
- After submitting your leave request, you will receive a notification regarding the status of your request (approved/denied). Keep an eye on your email for updates.
Additional Information
- Mandatory Fields: Ensure that all mandatory fields are filled out correctly before submission.
- Error Messages: If any required field is left empty or filled incorrectly, an error message will be displayed. Correct these before proceeding.
Downloading Leave Request Form
This section outlines how to download the leave request form in both HTML and PDF formats using the application.
Steps to Download the Leave Request Form:
- Generate the Leave Request Form:
- The leave request form is generated using the details from the leave request. This includes information such as the employee's name, department, leave dates, reason for leave, leave days, and substitutes.
- Initiate the Download:
- To download the leave request form, locate the “Download” button within the application interface. Clicking this button triggers the download process.
- HTML Format Download:
- When you click the “Download” button, the leave request form is first generated as an HTML file. This file is automatically downloaded to your device as
leave_request_form.html.
- You can open this file in any web browser or HTML viewer to view or print the leave request form.
- PDF Format Download:
- After the HTML file is generated, a new window opens displaying the leave request form.
- The application uses the html2canvas library to capture the content of this new window and converts it into a PDF format.
- The PDF file is created in A4 portrait orientation and is ready for download.
- You can print the document directly from the new window or download it to your device. The PDF will be saved as
leave_request_form.pdf.

Overview
The Leave History component allows faculty members to view and manage their leave requests. Users can search for specific requests, filter by date, and view detailed information about each leave request. Additionally, users can download a PDF version of their approved leave requests.

- Search Leave Requests: Easily find leave requests by typing in the search box.
- Filter by Dates: Select a start and end date to view leave requests within a specific range.
- View Leave Request Details: Click on a request to see more information, including substitutes assigned for the leave.

Edit Leave Requests
- Editing After Approval: If your leave request has already been approved and you make any changes to it, the request will be sent for re-approval. This is to ensure that any modifications are reviewed and authorized by the relevant authorities.
